Bettie Johnson

Bettie Lee Johnson, 75, of Statesville passed away at Davis Hospital Saturday November 1, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Iredell County, September 6, 1939 to the late Chester and Shelby Nell Feimster Johnson of Harmony. Bettie attended Harmony school. Before her retirement, she was in sales. With her winning personality and sense of humor, she excelled in real estate sales having won an award for best sales person. She really cared about people. Before her disability, she lived at Kings Grant Apartments and later at the Gardens of Statesville. She was well known for her generosity. She loved to share. She is survived by three children, Tammy Bunton of Hamptonville, Robbin Halcomb of Surry County, Bob Bunton of Hamptonville. Her grandchildren, Shanda Ostwalt, Christopher Gregory, Brandy McHargue, Chris McHargue (Jennifer), Tristen Bunton, and Matt Bunton; her great grandchildren, Joseph Halcomb, Robbin "Lilo" McHargue, Shawn Robinette, Lexie McHargue, Christopher Gerhart,and Hunter Berryhill. She is further survived by one sister, Laranda Johnson of Statesville, one brother, Jim Johnson (Bessie)of Advance and a special friend, Carl Zwingli. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jessie Campbell, Lucille Sherrill, and Sara Cleary. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Nicholson Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Holland. Burial will be at a later date.
