Bertie Louise Stout, 78, of Statesville, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Brian Center Of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on October 22, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Henry Solon Morrow and Addie Feimster Morrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Stout, in 1992, a son, Carlton C. Wilkerson, in 2003, a grandson, Matthew D. Wilkerson, in 2005, and her four siblings, Robert Morrow, Naomi M. Page, Sam Morrow and Christine M. Winslow. Bertie was also preceded in death by her cherished friends, Joan Hall, Roberta Waugh and Jeannette Summers. Bertie is survived by her son, Steven Floyd Wilkerson and his wife, Deborah H. Wilkerson, her daughter, Christine Louise Keller and her husband, Stephen Keller, a daughter-in-law, Denise M. Wilkerson and grandchildren: Jessica L. Wilkerson (Jacob Vaccaro), Michael C. Wilkerson, Seth S. Keller (Tiffany Smith), and Ethan C. Keller. Also surviving is a great grandson, Matthew Solon Vaccaro. Bertie graduated from Cool Springs High School in 1955, and she served at the Clerk Of Courts office for nearly 30 years. She was a devoted member of South River Baptist Church and was active in the Young At Heart Senior Group. Bertie loved her grandchildren, teaching them about politics, card games and quilting and she doted on her great-grandson. Services celebrating Bertie's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at South River Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Thompson officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. Private burial will take place at a later date.
