Barbara Stafford Evans

Mrs. Barbara Stafford Evans, 75, of Statesville, died February 11, 2015 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Iredell County on September 21, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Stafford and Myrtle Ellis Stafford. She was a retired pharmacy tech with Revco and later CVS. She graduated from Statesville Senior High School and served on the original board of directors that built the Ebenezer Volunteer Fire Department. She also served on the board of directors of the Junior Deputies in the 1970's. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Fox, and a granddaughter. She was married to her husband, Mr. Dallas Evans for 56 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons: Stafford Grant Evans and Chan Evans both of Statesville, daughters: Wendy Hefner (Randall) of Statesville and Nichole Houghton (Billy) of Ohio, a brother, Dan Stafford (Linda) and a sister, Tommie Compton (William) all of Statesville. Also surviving are 6 grandsons and 3 great granddaughters. Services celebrating Bobbie's life will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday in the chapel at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Hartness Road with Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Friends may also drop by the residence to visit with the family. Condolences may be sent online to the family to www.nicholsonfunerals.com. Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the church or charity of the donor's choice. Nicholson Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangemenets
