Barbara Josephine Houston

THOMASVILLE-Mrs. Barbara Josephine Howell Houston, 82, of Thomasville, NC passed away September 8, 2021 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehab in Thomasville, NC. Barbara was born September 5, 1939 in Guilford County, NC to the late George Ben and Lucy Jamamia Colson Howell. She was a cafeteria worker for First Presbyterian Nursing Home for over 10 years. Barbara had a beautiful voice and she loved singing and served in several choirs. She loved reading, especially her Bible, and loved the outdoors and nature. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston is preceded in death by a sister Mary Ester Etheredge and a brother Richard Howell. Left to cherish her memories are her son Bobby Houston and Hollie Rene of Pensacola, FL., her husband of 17 years Herman Houston, brother-in-law Thurman Houston of Thomasville, brother-in-law Tommy Lee Charles of Thomasville, sister-in-law Ada Thomas of Thomasville, nephew Willie B. Etheredge of Greensboro, niece Rosemary Etheredge of Georgia, niece Angie Thomas of High Point, great-aunt Mabel Colson of Georgia, and one grandchild Colsen Joseph Houston and his mother Katherine Smith Eagler of Kernersville.
