Barbara Elaine Pharr Foster

Barbara Elaine Pharr Foster, age 66, of Union Grove, NC, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born on November 19, 1955, in Statesville, she was the daughter of Delbert Pharr and the late Louise Ashley Pharr.

Elaine was a devoted wife and mother who exhibited Christlike character and loved everyone unconditionally. Her life is best reflected by the phrase, "family is life's greatest blessing." She was a homemaker until her children were older and became employed by the Iredell Statesville School System until her retirement in 2018. She was a member of Barker's Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, Louise Ashley Pharr, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robbie Pharr. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 19 years, Tim Foster; her son, Gene Shumaker and his wife, Chasta Shumaker of Hiddenite; her daughter, Pam Brewer and her fianc, Terry Church of Statesville; her step-daughter, Samantha Spangler and her husband, James of Hamptonville, NC; her grandchildren, Solomon Shumaker, Isaac Shumaker, Peyton Adams, Cali Adams, Lucas Jordan, and Jackson Munday; her father, Delbert Pharr; siblings, Debbie Weston and her husband, Gary of Statesville, Donna Bragg and her husband, Andrew of Salisbury, and half-brother, Scott Gunter and his wife, Regina of Mocksville.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Tuesday evening, June 14, 2022, at Nicholson Funeral Home. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
