Audrey Jean Kale

Audrey Jean Lippard Kale, 84, of Statesville, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at her residence. She was born on September 26, 1931 in Iredell County to the late Edgar Marvin and Grace Rimmer Lippard. Mrs. Kale was a graduate of Celeste Henkel High School and was married on December 24, 1949 to Neil Joyner Kale, who preceded her in death on July 7, 2005. They had over 55 years of marriage before his passing. She was a member of Front Street Baptist Church and was a devoted homemaker, taking care of her family. Audrey had been employed in the lunch room of South Iredell High School. She enjoyed traveling with her siblings and having lunch with her sisters. Along with her parents and husband Neil, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Lippard Morrow and two brothers, Ralph Lippard and Edgar Lippard. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Terry Neil Kale (Rachel Martin Kale) of Catawba and Curtis Daryl Kale (Barbara Funk Kale) of Charlotte; two daughters, Marsha Joy Kale Nantz and Penny Jill Kale Kummer, both of Statesville; six grandchildren, James S. Nantz, Kristy Nantz Walton (Gary), John C. Kale (Randell), Thomas M. Kale (Melissa), Katherine G. Kummer, and Jacob Neil Kale Kummer; and one great grandson, Nolan Kale. She is further survived by two sisters, Clarisse L. Cash and Phyllis L. Gibson (Jim), and one sister-in-law, Wilma Lippard. Funeral services for Mrs. Kale will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm.
