Arthur Pete Dilday

Mr. Arthur Brinson (Pete) Dilday, Jr., 79, of Statesville, passed away peacefully Friday November 3, 2017 at his home. He was born on June 10, 1938 in Norfolk, Virginia and was a son of the late Arthur Brinson Dilday, Sr. and Pearl Voliva Dilday Milburn. He was a member of the Virginia National Guard and had over a 30 year career with Ryder Truck Rental in Hickory, N.C. He was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, street rod cars and NFL football. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna Anne Marzolf Dilday of 31 years. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his brother, Donald Dilday and his sister, Aileen Coggeshall, sons: Thomas Dilday and Bruce Dilday (Shari) and step-daughters, Claudia Plybon (James), Kelly Boyd (John) and Kim Schutt (Jeff). Pete had eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Services celebrating Pete's life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Nicholson Funeral Home with Dr. J. B. Parker, Jr. officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Private burial will take place later.
