Ardelia Barrier

Ardelia Harmon Barrier, 92, of Statesville, passed away Monday, August 15, 2011 at Statesville Place. Mrs. Barrier was born August 12, 1919 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Edward Franklin Harmon and Delia Ann Reddick Harmon. She was a graduate of Harmony School class of 1937 and was the Valedictorian at Mitchell College. She was married in 1942 to James Worth Barrier, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2001. She was formerly employed with Blackwelders Furniture Store where she worked as a book keeper. Mrs. Barrier is survived by her nephews, J. Donald Cline (JoAnn), Ed Harmon and Sam Harmon. Funeral services for Mrs. Barrier will be conducted 3:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2011 at Providence UMC with Rev. Ron Karriker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
