Annie Hudson Reese, 89, of Cornelius, NC, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2024, on her 89th birthday. Born on September 5, 1935, in Graniteville, South Carolina, Annie was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Hudson and the late Henry Lawrence Hudson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roland Reese; and her brothers Eddie Hudson, Phil Hudson, and Dennis Hudson.
A devout Christian, Annie lived her life in unwavering faith, dedicating herself to God and to the family she loved so dearly. Her family was her life’s greatest mission, and she poured her heart into raising her children and nurturing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love was steadfast, and her home was filled with warmth, kindness, and laughter, and lots of cheese toast and sweet tea. Annie’s selfless spirit touched all who knew her. Known for her love, generosity, hospitality, and positivity, she possessed a strength and determination that inspired everyone around her. With her quick wit and warm sense of humor, she brought joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Annie’s memory. Annie will be remembered not only for her faith and love but also for the strength of her spirit, her humor, and her unwavering grace. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of her Savior.
