Annie Mae Peacock

Annie Mae Keever Peacock, 97, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on October 27, 1919 in Alexander County to the late J. Gault Keever and Cora Warren Keever. Mrs. Peacock was a graduate of Hiddenite High School and was married to Ernest Zeno Peacock who preceded her in death in 1970. She was a life-long member of Liberty Methodist Church. Mrs. Peacock worked for many years at Thomasville Furniture and then was a supervisor at Wm. T. Burnett. She loved to work, retiring three times but ended up working till the age of 83. Along with her parents and husband, Ernest, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Loyd, Glenn, and Garland Keever. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Lanny Ray Keever (Doris); two daughters, JoAnn Snead Sanders and Glenda Kay Bottoms; a granddaughter, Vanessa Denny (Chuck); a great grandson, Carson Alexander Denny; and two sisters, Cleeda Sloop (Ray) and Fairy Stallings (Joe). A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
