Anna Giraldi Pettit

Anna Vodopivec Giraldi Pettit, 93, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born in Gorizia, Slovenia on July 27, 1923 to the late Andrea and Frances Paulica Vodopivec. Mrs. Pettit was first married to Eugene Giraldi, who preceded her in death. She later married Bill Pettit, who also preceded her in death. She was a self-employed seamstress and was well known for her quality work. Mrs. Pettit was a member of the Statesville Garden Club. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and their choir for over 20 years. Along with her parents, and husbands, Eugene and Bill, she was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marina Giraldi Litaker and her husband, Garth, and four granddaughters, Karina, Sierra, Brenna, and Shannon Litaker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kestler officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 525 Camden Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.
