Andy Byrd

Andrew Michael Byrd (Andy), 59, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home. He had been in declining health for some time. He was born September 13, 1953 to the late Andrew Quincy Byrd and Ollie Tucker Byrd. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and was employed by North American Products for 35 years. He is survived by two sons, Jamie Byrd (Laura) and Justin Byrd (April); a grandson, Zackery Byrd; and a granddaughter, Hannah Cole Byrd. Also surviving is a sister, Candi Burgin (Stephen); a nephew, Chad Burgin; and a great nephew, Levi Burgin. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home with the service starting at 3:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Donnie Thomas, Chuck Nantz, Chad Burgin, Ian Brewer, Jamie Byrd, and Jimmy Williams In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will assemble at the Burgin residence, 3204 Wentworth Drive. The family wishes to express appreciation to Tanya, Sherlock Internal Medicine, and Iredell Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care extended to Andy.
