Alma Lena Bost

Alma Lena Benfield Bost, 104, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born on March 8, 1912 in Iredell County to the late Jacob Henry and Sally Pope Benfield. Mrs. Bost attended Iredell County Schools and was married to Albert Bost who preceded her in death in 1976. She had worked at Beauty Maid Mills and Mont Clair Furniture during her career. She was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church and had been a member of the Senior Saints at the church. Along with her parents and husband, Albert, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Dewey, and Glenn Benfield; and four sisters, Nona B. Morrow, Irene B. Morrow, Myrtle B. Miller, and Cleo B. Miller. Left to cherish her memory are one brother, Ross Benfield of Claremont, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Bost will be held 11:00 am Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Sharon Lutheran Church with Rev. Gene Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00 until 11:00 am.
