Allen Ray Mcphee

Mr. Allen "Al" Ray McPhee, 68, of Statesville, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, following a brief illness. Mr. McPhee was born January 3, 1947, in New Hampshire and was the son of the late Raymond McPhee and Cora Dorothy Connell McPhee. He attended schools in Claremont, New Hampshire and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and on June 2, 1993, he married Wilma J. McPhee, who survives. Mr. McPhee was a graduate of Claremont High School and Boston College. He taught school in Augusta, Ga. He was employed with the V.A. Hospital where he was a supervisor for the Pulmonary and Respiratory Therapy. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Wilma, he is survived by two daughters, Kelli Davis and April Norris (Mike), both of Statesville, two sons, Keith McPhee (Emily) of Virginia, and Gary Spangler, Jr. of Statesville. He is also survived by four grandsons, C.J. McPhee, Tyler Brown, , and Dylon McPhee, all of VA, and Zaine Norris of Statesville and four granddaughters, Madeline Norris, Makayla Norris, and Brooke Norris, all of Statesville, and Caitlin McPhee of VA. He is further survived by a sister, Barbara Lopez of Statesville; a brother, Arthur McPhee (Evelyn) of Kentucky; and a host of family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mr. McPhee will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Unity Baptist Church with Pastor James Keever and Pastor James Moore officiating. Burial with full military honors provided by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church, 660 Mock Mill Road, Statesville, NC 28677.
