Alice June Lester

Alice June Foster Lester, 73, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at her residence. She was born in McDowell County in West Virginia to the late George William and Thelma Louisa Powers Foster. Mrs. Lester was a graduate of Elk Horn High School and was married to Roy Lester, who preceded her in death. They shared over 40 years of marriage before his passing. She was a homemaker most her life and attended Holiness House of Prayer in Conover. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Robin Lester; a grandson, Josh Lester; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Lester; three great grandsons, Stephen Christian, Alex Lester, and Everett Christian; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Christian; a brother, Butch Foster; her heart adopted daughter, Dana Burks; and her heart adopted granddaughter, McKayla Munday. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Popular Springs Church of God with Rev. Ray Isom officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holiness House of Prayer, 1609 Thornridge Drive, Newton, NC 28658.
