Albert Doyle White

Mr. Albert Doyle White, 91, formerly of Statesville, died November 30, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Vance, S.C. Born in Iredell County on August 15, 1927, he was a son of the late John Albert and Connie Brown White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Katherine Pharr White, a son, Mike White and brothers, Eddie and Ervin White.



Mr. White was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army as an MP in the 175th Military Police Battalion. He was a supervisor with Georgia Pacific. He was a true example of a faithful, good-hearted man. He believed in family and loyalty. Generous to a fault, he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was known as hard working and determined. He loved gardening and being outdoors. He had a great interest in photography and surrounded himself with countless cherished photos of his loved ones.



Survivors include his children: Carol Eason (Jerry), Jane White (Lyndon) and John White, his brothers, Harry (Elizabeth), Pressly, and Wilson (Sue) White and sisters: Wilma Gooden (Kenneth), Johnsie Hayes (Doyle) and Elvira Jensen. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Kristy, Wendy, Brandi, Jill, Whitney and Kaitlin along with 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.



Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Nicholson Funeral Home. At other times the family will be assembled at the home at 111 Shumaker Drive. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites presented by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail.
