Agnes Mae "Aggie") Loyd

May 11, 1934 — January 18, 2017

Agnes Mae Morrison Loyd (Aggie) 82, of Statesville left her earthly home, Wednesday, January 18, 2017, to be with her Heavenly Father and beloved husband Leroy Loyd of 61 years. Born in Iredell County May 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Walker Bradley Morrison and Verda Lee Wooden Morrison. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Agnes was a homemaker and worked on the family farm with her husband. Mrs. Loyd was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many positions as a teacher and leader in Relief Society, the women's organization of the Church. She also served as the past President of the Ladies Veterans Auxiliary of DAV Harold Littlefield Chapter 68. She graduated from Scotts High School. She was proceeded in death by her husband Phillip L. Loyd, a sister Lois Fowler, brother Jimmy Morrison and an infant son, Lowell Thomas Loyd. Those left to cherish her memory are, children, Darlene Daino of Statesville, Teresa (Gary) Andrews of Vine Grove, Kentucky, Marty (Lu Anne) Loyd, Martha (Matt) Scott and Charlie (Heidi) Loyd, all of Statesville, thirteen grandchildren, Albert (Kayte), Rachel (Wendell), Emily, Leah (Matthew), Marianne, Brent (Casey), Derrick, Matt (Kristin), Autumn, Gavin, Jocelyn, Callie and Hudson. Also surviving are thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Speaks, Carolyn Henderson and Judy Lathrop, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. Services honoring Mrs. Loyd will be held Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to express their grateful appreciation to her Hospice Nurse, Malia Howard and CNA Tracy Bell for their loving and dedicated care to our mother. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County 2347 Simonton Road Statesville, NC 28625.
