Verler Mae Shumaker Osborne, 76, of Olin, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Iredell County to the late William Melton Shumaker and Maggie Nola Welborne Shumaker.
Vickie attended Iredell County Schools and was disability retired from Rental Uniform where she was a seamstress. She was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church but attended New Life Community Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Tank, Toot, and Dwight Shumaker; one sister, Fairy Shumaker, two sons-in-law, Clifton Dillard and Jerry Poole, and her life-long companion, Johnnie Hamm.
Ms. Osborne is survived by four sons, Samuel Shumaker (Vicky), Phillip Presnell, Lynn Osborne, and Randy Osborne (Judy); three daughters, Melissa Dillard, Renee Poole, and Tammy Hamm; two sisters, Ann Pharr and Betty Felts; one brother, Staley Shumaker; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. She is further survived by four special inspirational friends, Matt, Grady, Samuel, and Lona.
Funeral services for Vickie Osborne will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 24, 2014 at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Samuel Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
