Deborah Wells

Deborah Lee Triplett Wells, 58, of Statesville, passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Wells was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who touched many lives with her smiles and hugs. Her grandkids were her heart and soul that always gave her peace.

She born in Radford, VA on January 4, 1954 and was the daughter of Frances Day Triplett and the late Floyd Hooper (Trip) Triplett. She graduated from Christian School and Kings College and in August of 1998 she was married to James Christopher Wells, who survives.

In addition to her husband she also survives two daughters, Michelle Lee Umbarger (Patrick), of Union Grove, and Melissa Ann Sziksai (James), of Raleigh, two step daughters, Mary E. Wells and Sarah A. Wells, both of Charlotte. She is also survived by a sister, Ann Gentry (Robert), of Kernersville, NC. She is further survived by three grandchildren, Courtney Lee Umbarger, Colby Patrick Umbarger, and Jordan Avery Sziksai.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Independence VA Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.
