Brenda Dye

Mrs. Brenda Sue Helton Dye, 56, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Dye was born November 10, 1955 in Buchannan County, VA and was the daughter of the late Elijah William and Mable Ann Ratliff Helton.  She was a graduate of Buchannan County schools and Mitchell Community College.  On November 10, 1972, Mrs. Dye married Edward Lynn Dye, Sr, who survives.

She was retired from Thomasville Upholstery where she worked as a skirt presser and she was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Edward Dye, Mrs. Dye is also survived by two sons, Edward Dye, Jr (Alicia) of Lenoir, NC and Michael Dye of Wilmington, NC.  She is also survived by five granddaughters, Angela, Amanda and Cheyenne Waugh, all of Statesville and Kalin and Madison Toler of Lenoir.  She is further survived by one grandson, Daniel Dye also of Lenoir and four sisters and three brothers, all of Virginia.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dye will be conducted 6:00 pm Friday, July 13, 2012 at Westwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Hyde officiating.  The family will visit with friends immediately following the funeral service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to the Brenda Sue Dye Memorial Fund, c/o Edward Dye, Sr. P.O. Box 6442, Statesville, N.C. 28687.

      Thank you so much. I am her daughter in law and know how much she loved her people at KFC. She would take us there because she liked the people there so much. She will be missed.

      Thank you so much. I married her son Bug in 2006 and only got to go to 2 reunions with them. I know she was looking forward to a reunion coming up this year, and I know from seeing her tons and tons of pictures how much everyone enjoyed them. I know she always did. She will be missed.

      Thank you so much Kathy, your words definitely bring comfort because she truly did brighten everyone’s life around her with her love and laughter. And she never met a stranger. I know she has alot of catching up to do in Heaven and one day we will see her again. Thanks again.
