Mrs. Mary Helen Little Kennerly, 79, of Statesville, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Gordon Hospice House. She was born January 2, 1933 in Statesville, NC to the late Harvey Lee Little and Regina Josey Little.
She was a graduate of Statesville High School and on September 3, 1960 married her husband Price Bell Kennerly who survives.
Mrs. Kennerly was a member of Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years teaching the grades three thru six. She was an active member of Ruth Templeton Circle and the UMW.
Helen worked at Woolworths and she loved working in her garden with Price to help feed the family. She was a loving, caring and sweet person as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as well as a friend.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda LeAnne Chipman in 1985.
Along with her husband Price Bell Kennerly, she is also survived by a daughter Judy Kennerly Kennedy (Scott), of Statesville, a son Tim Kennerly (Nikole), of Lexington, NC, three grand daughters Regina Ashley (Edward), of Lincolnton, Caroline and Krista Kennerly, of Lexington and two grandsons Tommy Chipman (Deborah), of Statesville and Jackson Price Kennerly “JP”, of Lexington. She is further survived by two great grand children Amanda R. Chipman, and Jaxon Ashley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kennerly will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2012 at Christ Boulevard United Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Goforth officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends today from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home.

I worked with Ms. Kennerly many years ago before she was married. We worked together at Raylass Dept. Store before she was married. She was a wondeful lady and friend.
