Mr. Martin Kerry Bell, 49, of Statesville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Davis Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Bell was born October 19, 1962 in Iredell County and was the son of the late Clarence Woodrow and Mildred Mayberry Bell. He attended Iredell County schools and was self-employed as a sub-contractor.
Mr. Bell is survived by four daughters, Elisha Bell Kaufmann (David) of Raleigh, N.C., Christine Bell, Lynzee Bell and Maci’ Foret, all of Statesville and one grandson, Jayse Potter, also of Statesville. He is also survived by one brother, Clarence “Butch” Bell (Judy) of Statesville along with three sisters, Jeanne B. Alexander and Susan B. Miller (Tim), both of Statesville and Jody B. Holbrook (Perry) of Asheville, N.C. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, February 23, 2012 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Martin Bell Memorial Fund, c/o Nicholson Funeral Home, 135 E. Front Street, Statesville, N.C. 28677 or to the American Heart Association.
