Mr. Ronald Fletcher “Ronnie” McNeely, Sr., 65, of Statesville, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Mr. McNeely was born August 10, 1946 in Iredell County and was the son of Maude Stewart McNeely and the late Hoyte White McNeely. He was a graduate of Iredell County schools and attended New Sterling ARP Church.
He was formerly employed with Road Machinery Services, Inc. where he worked as a mechanic and a welder.
In addition to his mother, Maude Stewart McNeely, Mr. McNeely is also survived by one daughter, Lorinda L. McNeely and two sons, Ronald McNeely, Jr. and Sean O. McNeely. He is also survived by two brothers, Blake McNeely and Lynn H. McNeely, all of Statesville. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with an aunt, Margaret Stewart Ward of Fletcher, N.C.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. McNeely will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2012 at New Sterling ARP Church with Rev. Tim Watson and Rev. Earl Linderman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba County, Sherrills Ford Unit, 7473 Sherrills Ford Road, Sherrills Ford, N.C.
