Jack Jolly

Jack Dean Jolly, 69, of Statesville, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born October 26, 1942 in Harmony, NC, and was the son of the late Fred and Nellie Johnson Jolly.

He attended Harmony Schools and was a licensed plumbing HVAC Contractor. He married Linda Trivette Jolly in 1965, and was Vice President of Miller Mechanical in Rural Hall, NC. He was also the owner of L&J and Jolly Turkey Farms. Jack was also the owner of Jacks Place, of Love Valley, which was the place he held dear to his heart; it was his pride and joy. He met and made many friends over the years from Jacks place. The family would like to give a special thank you to the friendships and continued support.  

Mr. Jolly enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his golf cart around the farm, and was an avid Nascar and football fan. He also had three dogs, three horses and a donkey that he loved unconditionally.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Lea Jolly, March 11, 1970.

Along with his wife, Linda Trivette Jolly, of  the home, he is also survived by a daughter, Kelly Jolly Hoss, a granddaughter, Brittanie Dison, and six siblings, Lois Conner, of Statesville, Bud Jolly (Peggy) of Winston-Salem, Dot Jolly, of Statesville, Jim Jolly of Clemmons, NC, Cathy Elliott (Marcus) of Statesville, and Pat Guy (Archie) of Statesville. He is further survived by a special great niece and nephew, Hallie and Holden McGee along with many other nieces and nephews as well. Mr. Jolly is also survived by a special family friend of many years, Hollywood.

A funeral service for Mr. Jolly will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Trevor Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home. The family will be assemble at the residence. Active pallbearers will be, John Shoemaker, Brian Garrison, Chuck Gatton, Jason Trivette, Brandon Trivette, Randy Shoemaker, and Hollywood. Honorary pallbearers will be, Brad Stroud, Dale Combs, Larry Murphy, Grandall Cass, Terry Jolly, John Sharp, and Hobart Yarbourgh.

Memorials may be made to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.

    My Uncle Jack was a good man..I have fond memories over the years and I am very sad to lose him. I know he is at peace and fought a long battle. I pray he can rest and breath free now. RIP Uncle..I love you..Pam
