Lutie “Sam” Amoon

Lutie Paula Nolen Amoon, 79, of Statesville, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born December 15, 1932 in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of the late Henry Paul Nolen and Lily Carroll Nolen.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Henry Anthony Amoon, a sister, Helen N. Davis, and a daughter-in-law, Sara Alspaugh Amoon.

She is survived by two sons, Edward Kalil Amoon, of Statesville, and Alec Henry Amoon, of Otto, NC. She is further survived by three sisters Delores N. Porter, and Jessica N. Berry, both of Franklin, NC, and Penny N. Scott, of Panorama City, California, one granddaughter Lily Amoon, and one grandson, Ben Amoon, both of Otto, NC, and one special niece Brenda Muskas, of Lake City, FL.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

In memory of Mrs. Amoons love for animals the family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Macon County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 81, Franklin, NC 28744, or to a Humane Society of donors choice.

    She will always be fondly remembered.
