Anthony “Andy” Dale Daugherty, 31, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC due to injuries received from an automobile accident on Dec. 18, 2011.
Andy was born Dec. 29, 1980 in Iredell County and was the son of Timothy Allen Daugherty and Patricia Brenda Carswell Daugherty, who survives of Statesville. He attended East Burke High School and he loved fishing, swimming, boating and cars. He never met a stranger and was a good old country boy. Andy was self employed and worked with his family in Appliance, Building and Trading Automobiles.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dawn Williams Daugherty, who he married December 9. 2011, one brother, Billy Lynn Daugherty (Hazel) of Stony Point, one daughter, Katelan L. Daugherty, of Statesville, paternal grandmother, Fae King Daugherty of Statesville and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Andy was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Ralph William Daugherty and maternal grandparents, Mary Ann Williams Carswell and Clyde Nolan Carswell.
A celebration of life service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 in the Concord Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kyle Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church. No formal dress is required.
